The Boys Brigade is a Christian, uniformed organisation committed to providing a safe environment in which young people
can, through participation in the activities and programme of the company, can develop socially and emotionally towards
mature adulthood.
The young people are encouraged to take an active part in decision making regarding the activities we provide as well as
participating in nationally recognised activities (which includes the Boys Brigade Badge Scheme, Adventure Service
Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, ASDAN Awards and others).
The Object of The Boys Brigade is:
The advancement of Christs Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline and all
that tends towards a true Christian manliness

The Aims and Objectives of The Boys Brigade are:
We recognise that the influences surrounding our young people are not always helpful and that too many loose control at
great cost to themselves, there families and the community. Our answer is to catch the energy and enthusiasm of youth to
channel it purposefully by:
Developing the young peoples awareness of there own community and create opportunities for service
Developing latent leadership qualities so that young people become contributors to the life of there community not just takers
Encourage young people to get involved in their company, there church and the community, and this involvement means taking responsibility for what happens
We offer support and interest to all young people and the community
To teach young people how to lead and how and when to follow
To promote a positive blend of individualism & team playing vital to society and the community
To encourage young people to give back and help to the community in which they live
How we promote our aims
We offer a varied programme of activities, including day trips, weekends away etc.
We listen to the young people and respond to there requests
We encourage participation in all areas of activity
We provide a safe, secure environment for the young people
We promote young peoples awareness of self and others
